One-Person Marketing Crews

Note to Self & Other Marketers with All the Hats

Effective marketing takes time to develop, time to implement, and time to test.

Personally, I wish I had all the time (and energy) in the world to work on my own marketing strategies and experiments. Between working for my employer, two clients, and home life as a parent (and daughter, aunt, friend), I run out of steam.

This is why business owners are encouraged to hire or contract marketing help – it’s a significant time investment, but marketing and sales are how businesses stay afloat. We all run out of steam. One caveat to that – if marketing is your favorite thing to do as a business owner, hire people for all the other stuff.

If you’re a one-person marketing crew for a small business, that is absolutely a full-time job, too. It’s a full-time job that requires lots of different skills.

Hats off to all of us wearing the many hats! We are an adaptable, productive bunch! But, as I need to remind myself, everything takes time. Carve out that time. Set it like a meeting with colleagues or partners or someone important that you wouldn’t ditch. The content will be created and published in feasible time.
