There is a debate between some marketers over whether it’s better to put out a lot of content all the time or to focus on developing high value content. Both take a certain amount of time and energy, and they both produce different results.
Every brand needs some quality content – stuff that truly informs, entertains or helps their audience.
If a brand wants to be seen and followed regularly, though, they’re going to want a continuous stream of content.
My advice:
- Don’t overthink the day-to-day posts. Ride trends. State your opinion or stance as long as it aligns with your audience. Inspire with simple messages.
- Reshare content you’ve posted in the past. This can be done in different ways – summarize a blog with bullet points, take a quote out and put a schnazzy background behind it, do a quick video summarizing the message, expand on a thought, ask for your audience’s opinions.
- Share other people’s content.
- In the background, build or write something to knock their socks off. This is something you’ll give in exchange for contact information or maybe for free.
- When that high value piece is complete and published, start another.
